Construction of an Electrical Extension Box (Workshop Practical Report)

Electrical Extension

A board that have one or more outlets for devices that
 can't reach the source of electricity to be plugged in, and has an electric cable  with a plug at the end, to be connected to an electric source.

AIM/OBJECTIVES:

To construct an electrical extension box.

MATERIALS:

Copper wires, screws, wall socket, plug, flat board(wooden) 

TOOLS: 

Electrical screw drivers(flat and star), pliers(flat and long nose), electrical drilling machine.

PROCEDURE:

  • The wall socket's base was attached to the board using screws.
  • The red wire was connected to the hole on the wall socket labelled L and the black was connected to the hole labelled N.
  • Holes were made through the board for the end of the wires to be passed.
  • The wall socket was attached to it's base using screws using the screw driver.
  • The plug was attached to the other end of the wire.
  • The board can be tested using voltmeter.

CONCLUSION:

The extension was constructed successfully.
